I am very impressed by the wrod "sumniag" that means
"awakening" in English, which I heard from the foremost economist
in Thailand Professor Ummar Siamwala, who spoke it on TV. before the baht devaluation crisis.
The word "summiag" makes me feel to the "humility"
or "inferior" much more than the word "sumnuk" (senes of relization
in English), especially when I woke up in one day and find that
I (or we) was very far from the centre of the world, the centre of
the moderness. I suddenly "sumniag" that I was humble and
demoded to the meanings and tests of moderness and the
new order of the world.
