Her distinctive body of work has evolved steadily, culminating in this comprehensive solo debut which represents the first time she has combined sound with paintings, fully realising her artistic vision.

‘Resonant Abstractions’ features a striking collection of abstract paintings paired with ‘sound’ that extend beyond traditional artistic boundaries. Kosiyabong’s innovative approach transforms linguistic patterns into dynamic visual compositions whilst simultaneously translating these visual elements into layered sound experiences—inviting visitors to ‘listen with their eyes and see with their ears.’

Drawing inspiration from the culturally embedded nature of language, the exhibition explores how our memories and expressions are shaped by collective linguistic frameworks that carry inherent cultural values.

“The way we use language stems from our memories, as our recollections of past events help us navigate present experiences,” explains the artist.

This synthesis forms what Kosiyabong describes as ‘a new language’—where paintings become letters, and installations become sentences and conversations unto themselves.
