Congratulations to Jamilah Haji on winning the 2025 UOB Southeast Asian Painting of the Year Award with her embroidery work, Dua (Pray for a Blessing).
Jamilah emerged as the top artist among national winners from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, receiving the highest honour of the UOB Painting of the Year competition, now in its 44th year.
Dua (Pray for a Blessing) features embroidered figures in prayerful, dream-like compositions, blending tradition, spirituality, and imagination to express a collective wish for renewal and harmony.
The winners’ works will be exhibited at National Gallery Singapore, UOB Discovery Space, until 31 January.
