The Philip Morris Group of Companies announces the 1999 ASEAN Art Awards, comprising national competitions in seven ASEAN countries leading to the regional awards ceremony at the National Art Gallery of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on November 3.
The ASEAN Art Awards provide artists with an opportunity to exhibit their works and compete for cash prizes in both a national competition in their home country and at the ASEAN-wide final competition. Each level of the competition is judged by a panel of art experts. Five works from each national competition will be chosen for the ASEAN final, set for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in November.
The Philip Morris Group of Companies established the ASEAN
Art Awards in 1994, building on Philip Morris' 40 year heritage
of support for the arts and cultural activities around the world.
The program aims to inspire and support creative works by established
and emerging artists in ASEAN countries, to reward their best
efforts, and to promote contact and interaction between the arts
communities around the region.
All art works must be submitted in
3-6 July 1999 8.30 am.-4.30 pm.
