Siam Cement Foundation in cooperation with leading educational institutions today launches the Young Thai Artist Award 2005, encouraging young art talents to create works in a competition to win over three million Baht in cash prizes. The theme for this year competition is “Fresh New and Hot” which reflected the creative works of young art talents that vary, different, and interesting.

“Siam Cement Foundation is committed to providing greater educational opportunities for Thai youth. We knew that there are so many young talents who love arts, but did not have a chance to show-off. The Young Thai Artist Award 2005 is now arranged for a second consecutive year to provide channels through which young people can exhibit their talents in various fields of arts. At the same time, it is an opportunity for the general public to foster and admire the work of the budding artists.”

The Young Thai Artist Award 2005 is the art competitions in six categories: Composer, Literature, Print Making, Film, Photography, and Sculpture. The winner of each category and the finalists will each receive a cash prize of 300,000 and 50,000 Baht respectively, plus the Siam Cement Foundation’s scholarship to complete a college degree.
