Unlike previous years, there is no given theme for entries in across all three categories in FDA 2009 - Students, Young Designers and Open. Participants are given free reign with their furniture creations.

Open Category
FDA Grand Award: S$2,000 cash, a trophy and an award certificate
FDA Honorable Mention Award: A trophy and an award certificate
All Categories
American Hardwood Award:
US$1,000 cash and an award certificate
FDA Honorable Mention Award: A trophy and an award certificate
* one winner will be selected from the finalists who have utilised American Hardwood in their entries under the Students, Young Designers and Open categories.
