PROJECT NO.3 FORM OF EMPTINESS, (1998-2000)

NO.5: FORM OF EMPTINESS, 1998, HEAT-FORMED CELLULOID FILM, DIMENSIONS VARIABLE

My artistic installation piece titled "Form of Emptiness" carries a feeling of emptiness and desolation after an abundance of used empty containers for daily necessities of food and usage items being discarded after use, are collected and lined up for thought.

These containers, earlier used to hold up their contents, were vibrant with life and usefulness; but now lay discarded, lifeless and empty after their- contents being used up. I have neatly arranged hanging them on the walls in my reverie of rekindling them back to life and usefulness.

In my reverie, the line dividing the once real vibrant containerized necessity items and what have become now morely lifeless empty used containers- a transformation of life to emptiness-is a flimsy one and reflects the situation of human lives. One must be constantly
conscious of such a transformation process so as to avoid being caught unawares by the ongoing materialism. And hopefully, one will perceive the true meaning ot life in the process.
