Chrystel Egal

Born in 1963 in France. Film-maker, photographer and novelist, she lives and works in Paris and in New York.

In Bangkok from 1987 to 1989, she participed to the film of the photographer Bruce Weber " Lets's get lost', about the life of Chet Baker. In 1995, she exhibited her text "Have you got X ?" during the Jazz Festival of la Goutte d'Or in Paris. In New York, in 1996, she curated "Sex and Sensibility", a special evening at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. In 1997, she is part of the "Instants Donnes", exhibition at the ARC, musee d'Art Moderne de la ville de Paris, by showing her film "Tribal", then she went to Prague to present her serie of photographs. The same year, her ROOM installation is at the Printemps de Cahors inside the "One minute scenario" exhibition and currently until febuary 98 at the Maison Europeenne de la Photographie in Paris. Her piece "Mister Pink, Mr Orange, Mr Yellow" is also part of the mobile exhibition 619 KBB 75 made in a mini Austin car. Her novel "Kovalam" beach was published by Actes Sud in april 1998.
