Aaron Tan

Born : 1963, Singapore


Aaron Tan founded OMA Asia in Hong Kong with Rem Koolhaas in 1994, an architecture firm based in Europe with an international portfolio of award-winning projects. OMA Asia is currently involved in various prominent projects in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Academically, Aaron led a recent graduate research studio (conducted by Rem Koolhaas) from GSD, in exploring the developments in the Pearl River Delta. In addition, Aaron is finishing a theoretical research project, Kowloon Walled City, which will be published in 1999. Part of the research has been published in various international journals, and has been exhibited in several international Biennales including, Vienna, Bordeaux, Seoul, Michigan, New York and Denmark. As an active participant in the urban development of Asian cities, Aaron has delivered public lectures on the subject in Beijing and Tokyo as well.
