Meditation for the Sangha Bill: Some of the protesters admit ignorance of
the contents of the new Sangha Bill. They have come at the urging of the
Buddhism Protection Centre Radio, which told them that this administration
gives no importance to Buddhism by refusing to enshrine it above all others
as state religion. Meanwhile, the group protesting this Bill (not pictured),
led by Mr Tonggon Wongsamoot, disciple of revered monk Luang Ta Maha Bua,
says that they mistrust the intentions behind the Bill, which also unacceptably
erodes the power of the Buddhist Leader, the Sangharaja. |
