Being inspired by inner mental
pressure I like to express about the responsive conditions in the
daily life of human being. These conditions exists in human mind are affected by both impulses
and environment.
As I use to notice peoples behavior in contemporary society suffering
and happiness are obvious to my felling. The suffering and sorrows make people’s state of mind. For example
people who are not successful bearing sorrow in their mind, some one who bears unhappiness or people who has believe or people
who trying hard to get something but becomes failure and people
who have to work hard for the family because the family members
are depending on him; these people are subject of my thought and work. The idea inspires
my work, that I believe about the power of “State of mind” will
stay every people’s mind. And also believe if people want to develop their situation from
sadness to happiness the State of mind will help them to find the
dynamic power of happiness.
And I try to preserve this “State of mind” as a source of work and
inspiration of people to promote in our values and culture. I think
this is a kind of spirit that everyone need in life.
Lonely and anxious unhappy people go to temple,
go to monk or pray to god or get drunk out of their emotion. Why
they do so? They want to escape from the situation. They need the spirit to get free from pains and sufferings of life.
And there are people who are poor and powerless are leading a kind
of life, is a sort of dead life. But they have some color in life except black and white, like golden
red and brown. They have their state of mind to trust and believe.
My study focuses on metal state of man that
is exposed in the form of posture and gestures. So, my figures are
the portrait of minds. They sit close to each other but never look at each other, or sit
alone in the space on a clear or light background. Those figures have no details on face, I always avoid facial expression. To my believe those expression are not representing words of soul,
as I believe the truth comes from soul. To my thought face is like a mask that we wear in everyday life.
Why my figures are sitting? When I study the ancient Thai culture and tradition as a student
of fine arts I found differences in the manner and gesture of Thai
female. I choose the style of sitting and conversation of Thai women in
the past and make it a harmonious composition.
Religious felling is important in my work.
I always use nature of religious felling in white, black, golden,
red and brown colors. Being a sculptor and not want to concentrate on so many details,
I just want to present the power of shape and smooth out line. Figures have been drawn from three-dimensional perspective and bold
outlines express the character and felling. It derived from my life landscape. And also my living experience
in Europe keeps an impact on my work. Especially in my young age I used to live in countryside, a life
close to nature and landscape, huge rice fields where I saw hard working poor people. So, their
hands and legs are exaggerated to evoke the hardship their manual
labor. Texture and forms follows the sweating people’s soul. Circle on
the top of head becomes as the spirit of their soul. Sometimes it may like hat for man or scarf for women. My struggle
is to always develop this spirit and proof it on my work.
So my work reflects dream or it may seems
like Dream Painting. This is a kind of emotionalist thought or works
whatever any one can say. Dream Painting about everyday life emotion of people, not heavenly
felling.
