Everything in the world is subject to change, both gradual and sudden, sometimes by the forces of nature and sometimes at the hands of mankind. There is both creation and destruction. In Thai society, from the past to the present day, most people have yet to realize their potential. They have suffered from a lack of participation in the thinking and planning process and the knock-on effects of continual change. Nowadays the world has entered an age of globalization and advanced technology. Societies worldwide are in a state of confusion and turmoil. The currents of change are swift and turbulent. The breaking down of societies is more tempestuous still and it is all the harder for most people to grasp or comprehend it. Yet in the midst of the problems of change, or perhaps because of this change, there are individuals who, dedicating their bodies and souls, throw everything into a struggle to find solutions that benefit the people. They stand and fight to overcome numerous obstacles, to let people free themselves of these problems and go on to lead more creative lives. These individuals are valuable seeds. They bring hope to us, to the country and to the world. They are like rice seedlings which try to take root, sprout forth, grow, put out new stalks and bear grain, until these seeds are ready to become "bringers of hope", nourishing people and society and giving tranquility to mankind.
